Royston Rugby Club is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in the sport. All children are entitled to feel safe and protected from any form of abuse and neglect, and have the right to take part in sport in a safe, positive and enjoyable environment.
To ensure effective delivery of this, Royston Rugby club adheres to and promotes the RFU’s safeguarding policies and procedures through all age groups and teams. This is underpinned by two key principles;
• Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility: for services to be effective each professional and organisation should play their full part; and
• A child-centred approach: for services to be effective they should be based on a clear understanding of the needs and views of children.
We share the RFU’s core values and know that correct safeguarding promotes these core values. The club is aware of all regulations, particularly in regards to 17 year olds playing in adult squads.
Royston Rugby Club is also committed to safer recruitment of coaches and other volunteers.
