Royston Rugby Coach Jamie Green has been shortlisted for final 6 for Coach of the Year in National Rugby Awards

The Lawson Keys National Rugby Awards are endorsed by Chris Robshaw to honour the achievements of all the thousands rugby clubs across the country. The evening will acknowledge the winners dedication and commitment to the game.

The awards will give the opportunity for clubs at all levels to enter and gain recognition for their contribution to the game, recognising clubs, players, coaches, volunteers, mini sections, supporters and many more people that make rugby the fabulous game it is.

The 2015 Awards ceremony will be held in the Rose Room at Twickenham “The Home of English Rugby” and will be attended by sporting celebrities as well as members of England Rugby teams and Premiership players

Jamie has been nominated in the coach of the year category –

QBE COACH OF THE YEAR

Nominations apply across the English game at any level and may include head coaches or specialist coaches. The winner will have been responsible for an outstanding year’s performance or have transformed a struggling side.

1: David Cook – Heathfield and Waldron RFC
U17 side won the National RFU Plate, best ever achievement for a Sussex club

2: Phil Olds – Redruth RFC
Has consistently developed a great squad of enthusiastic youngsters for the past 16 years

3: Mark Anderson – Stamford RFC
Not only a great coach for U15 youngsters but a great life teacher

4: Jamie Green – Royston RFC.
Progressed from player into deep-thinking coach of U9s; fine technique has minimized minor injuries.

5: Mike McHugh-Hicks – Wetherby RFC
Undefeated first team (P27 W27), U17s Yorkshire League winners

6: Paul Tarpley – Old Northamptonians RFC
Retiring after 12 years as coach of the colts. In the past six years the team won all of their 120 games except three.

JUDGING PANEL

Jeremy Guscott
Jeremy Guscott is widely regarded as the finest outside centre produced by England. He won 65 caps for his country, scoring 143 points and was selected for three Lions tours, 1989, 1993 and 1997. In South Africa, in 1997 he kicked the last minute drop goal in the decisive second Test. He also made 266 appearances for his club Bath. He is a full time pundit for BBC and regular columnist in The Rugby Paper

Sue Day
Sue is former captain of the England Rugby team (15s and 7s) and remains England’s record try scorer. Now retired, aside from her day job as Director of Corporate finance at KPMG, she is also President of Wasps FC, occasional commentator for Sky Sports and trustee of the Women’s Sport Trust.

Jeff Probyn
Jeff Probyn is an English former Rugby Union player and made three hundred first team appearances for Wasps. Jeff was selected in England's squad for the 1987 Rugby World Cup and he made his international debut in 1988, at the age of 31, against France. Jeff is still very active in the rugby world and is a regular columnist in The Rugby Paper. He is currently a member of Rugby Football Union Disciplinary panel.

Nick Cain
Nick Cain is a leading authority on the game after 30 years as a roving correspondent, and is The Rugby Paper's chief writer. He has covered all seven World Cups since the tournament's inception in 1987, and has reported on seven Lions tours since 1989, whether for the Sunday Times, Rugby World -- which he edited from 1984-1993 -- or The Rugby Paper. He has written a number of books on the game, and is the co-author of the acclaimed "Behind The Rose", and its predecessor, "Behind The Lions", and also co-authored Jeremy Guscott's "Lions Diary", recording the player's triumphant 1997 tour of South Africa.

Professional player of the year
Womens player of the year

Players nominated include George Ford, Billy Vunipola, Jonathan Joseph, Samu Manoa and Maggie Alphonsi
