Royston Rugby under 9’s continued their relentless quest for trophys by adding another 2 to the cabinet at the weekend,
The A team were placed in the main cup competition against sides from old albanaians, Datchworth, Letchworth & Hitchin with Letchworth also adding a B side to the group
Royston B team entered the plate against Old Albanians B, Stevenage A’s, Hitchin B, Letchworth C,& datchworth B
Between both of the royston squads not one game was lost, with the A team recording 4 wins and a draw, and the B team the perfect 5 from 5
Notable tacklers over the day were William Green, Maddison Lawrence, & Henry Day small & Larson Reid, excellent passing was displayed by Joe Turkington, Rory McAuliffe, Alfie Cockburn and Conor Boyle, whilst try scoring of the highest ability was displayed by Johnathan Weimann, Louis Heath Murchie, George Hill, & Max Ramsden, huge ball carring efforts were made By Alex Martin, Ieystyn Hill, Ethan Mcgillvray, and Jaden Thorne ably supported by the excellent Ewan Long, Harry Brent, Ben Clarke,
Royston A’s won the main Cup competiton whilst the B’s the plate with games to spare
Coach Jamie Green was particually satisfied with the performance of the B squad showing the depth of ability we have at this age group, whilst the A team won by a few trys in most matches, the manner in which the B team beat all other b teams by such large margins shows our squad has real depth and the ability and aptitude to develop into one of the great Royston teams of the future
